Sorry it has taken so long to post anything about the twins being born. Things have been hectic to say the least. But they are here, and they are 3 weeks old and I just love them so much. I have so much to catch up on, but I will just begin today with their
birth story.
I went to the doctor on February 15th for my 37 week check
up. I was hoping that my doctor would give me a date for induc
tion if these little ones weren't coming. I was hoping for sometime around the 21st. I got to the doc and my blood pressure was high, very high. He checked me and found I was 3 cm dilated. He decide to induce me Friday morning, February 17th. I was ecstatic. I could finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.
I arrived with Joe at the hospital bright and early at 7 am on February 17th. One hour later I was getting my epidural. I was already getting strong contractions, and how the twins were going to be delivered I wanted some strong meds. I didn't really want to feel it....you'll see what I mean in a little while. By 12 pm I was dilated to a 5, but they still hadn't broken my water. The doctor came in shortly there after and broke it. By 2 pm, I was fully dilated. They didn't believe me when I told them, "Once, my water breaks, it goes so quick." But no one believed me, they kept saying, "NO twins, take longer, much longer, you may still be in labor til this evening." Yeah right, was all I kept thinking. When they checked me at 2pm, they couldn't believe I was ready. They started to get the OR ready and waited for the doctor to arrive. Blake's heart beat kept dropping, so I was put on oxygen and moved around often, trying to get his heart rate back up.
Finally at 2:50 the doctor said I was stretched enough for the delivery, and Matthew's head was just about ready to come out. The wheeled me back there.
I was terrified. I didn't know what to expect, just that my doctor was confident he could get Blake out, who was breech, but I was so worried about him. By 3pm my doctor was ready, but he said "don't push, I'm going to give you a rest." He grabbed the forceps and gently guided Matthew's head out with my next contraction. I didn't even push and he was out within a couple of minutes. Right away, he reached up inside me and grabbed Blake by the feet and broke his water. The water literally shot like 10 feet across the room, it was insane. Then he gently pulled Blake out, feet first. It took just seconds and then I heard his cry. I didn't even push. Not once, to get either of them out. They were here and healthy and strong. I was so relieved. Their cry was music to my ears. At first the stopped crying right away, and I started to freak out. As the doctor delivered both placentas and stitched me up, I was asking over and over, "Are they okay, are they okay?" No one was answering me and I felt so worried. But, they were fine, just calm and happy, and Daddy was obviously distracted by his two new sons and didn't even hear me asking if they were okay.
They straight from the cleaning table and into my arms. And there they stayed. They wheeled me down the hall way with both babies in my arms. It was so surreal. They were here, happy and healthy and so real. I was so overwhelmed with emotion and love for them. They never went to the NICU, not once. They stayed in our room that entire day, and the next and the next. Being able to take them home with us, was so amazing and such a blessing. I thank the Lord everyday, for this blessing, these two miracles in our lives.
Matthew born at 3:04pm
Blake born at 3:06pm
I was happy and relieved.
They next couple of days were spent getting to know out little men. They are so beautiful and so miraculous. I am so thankful they are here.

Oh my gosh!!! Heather they are just perfect. That picture of Matthew at the end looks so much like Dallin! I still can't believe you delivered both babies without a C-section, and with Blake being breech too. You're a champ Heather, an absolute champ. The boys are so adorable and we can't wait to see more pictures. We hope we get to meet them soon! Fingers crossed for this summer sometime. Sorry this is the longest comment ever :) xoxo
