9 Month stats

We just got back from Dallin's 9 month check up and it went well. I was super worried that the doctor was going to rail into me because Dallin is not crawling yet, but he didn't seem to be too worried or surprised. He said Dallin was doing so well with everything else, that he isn't worried about the crawling. Wheww!! I was worried, but now I feel a lot better knowing the doctor isn't that concerned.

Super Baby's Stats:
Weight: A whopping 21 lbs. 2 oz. 77th percentile

Head: 46 cm. 71st percentile

Height: 30 inches. 95th percentile

He was a trooper with his FLU shot and the iron test. He was such a great baby today, I think he deserves a treat:)

Chubby Whubby BABY:) We LOVE You!

Wouldn’t you know it?

Dallin didn't exactly start crawling overnight, but after I made that post yesterday he did do something else, he went from all fours to sitting up on his knees! Hurray!!!

He is getting so strong. Here are the pictures of his progress.

On all fours….

Pushing up….

Sitting on his knees!!!!! I am so proud of him!!!

a month late but o well....

Dallin is almost 9 months, so I wanted to post some pictures of him as an 8 month old, before he is no longer that old.

His little face is changing so much. His little baby cheeks aren't quite as chubby (still very squishy and chubby of course) and his little teeth are really starting to come in. I think he is looking quite handsome.

Dallin LOVES to hang out with his dad and to wear his hats. The black hat is one of Joe's favorites. I put one of my hats on at first and Joe didn't like this very much....immediately he took my hat off and put one of his on. I guess I am just aching to dress a little girl up. Sorry Dallin:)

We have a little neighbor girl who absolutely LOVES Dallin and I think he loves her. This is just a small glimpse into their "love"...hehe. You can't really tell in this picture, but he was just pulling away from laying his first smoocher on a girl...he just loves to be held by her. He just watches her and strokes her hair. It is so cute!Dallin still isn't very mobile yet, even at his 9 month mark, he isn't crawling. I was really worried at his 6 month check up, because everyone I knew who had a 6 month old was already crawling or at least army crawling, but Dallin wasn't even close. I decided after the appointment to start really working with him. BUT..... nothing....I think he will just do it in his own time and in his own way. However, somehow, when we are not looking, he manages to move around like crazy. This picture of him in his crib is how I found him after his nap. He was on the opposite end of the crib, there were no stuffed animals anywhere around him, and somehow he managed to end up like this. I have decided that he just doesn't want to do it around me...oh well:)

He has always been very smart though, I think that he is just very observant and spends a lot of his time thinking about how things work and other stuff, rather than how to get somewhere and how to crawl. He is always just watching me, studying me, looking at things, playing with things, and just all around observing. He loves to smile, laugh and FLIRT. Yes, my little boy is a flirt already. His newest thing is to smile, cock his head to one side with his head turned slightly away from you and then slowly blink both his eyes....like he is winking! It is so funny!! I just love his little personality. He is always so patient with me. He hardly cries and is so well mannered. Yesterday I was visiting an elderly women in my ward and we were there for 3.5 hours. I didn't feed him or change his diaper while there and she was amazed that he didn't cry or whine once! I just had to laugh, because that is the definition of who he is... patience. I am one lucky mom:)

I think this might be one reason why he isn't mobile yet, he is just to darn patient. I try putting him on all fours like this picture shows, he will rock back and forth for a little while, smile and then just plop back down on his stomach. No desire whatsoever to get around the house. I guess I should be thankful, he is that much easier to handle, but I can't help but be anxious for that next step in his development to just happen. I know it will come in due time, I guess I am the one who needs to learn a lesson from my son and just be patient. One of the many things he has already taught me:)

I want makeup and Halloween

So I got a picture from my last photo shoot. I think it turned out really well. I am thinking of learning how to do makeup better. They had such a natural makeup look on me at this shoot but I loved it! I think they used MAC makeup, I don't know much about it, but I am sure it is super expensive, however, I think it is worth it :)

Also, Here is a picture of Dallin as a monkey for Halloween! He was the cutest monkey, however, most everyone thought he was a bear. It was fun dressing him up. He was such a trooper for trick or treating. We didn't want to get too much candy for him, we stopped going up to the door after 10 houses or so... we got some pretty weird looks from people, so we refrained. I guess they realize that a 7 month old can't really eat candy, so who will be eating it....ME!!! LOL, oh well, it was fun regardless and I think Dallin loved being all warm and snugglie in his costume while the cool, crisp autumn air surrounded him. I love the Fall!~

Back in the Saddle...

So lately I have been thinking of modeling again. Nothing big, just small jobs. So I was looking online for a few jobs, and I found one for GotLashes.net. They needed some models for their new line of eyelash extensions. You could send in a head shot and if you were lucky you were chosen. So I sent in my old head shot from the old days of modeling and whola! They picked me.

It was really fun to model again. I feel more mature and a lot more able to handle the stresses of it. It was actually a blast to do it again. I am thinking of pursuing just small stuff again. I think it might be fun.
Here is a shot Joe took of me when I got home from the shoot. Not bad eh? I think the eyelash extentions are awesome! And they last 60 days.... I don't even have mascara on in this picture and it was so amazing, not having to put any on this morning!

Fall family portraits

Last Sunday we went out and had our first family portraits taken! Our friend Ashley was so kind as to take them for us. I love the Fall! We tried going up to Aspen grove first, but when we got there, we were sorely disappointed. The leaves were all gone and it was so brown! But no worries, just a little ways down the canyon we found some good spots to take some photos. I think they turned out well.

Finally!

After a month or two of thinking Dallin was teething (and being sorely let down) he has FINALLY started teething for real! His front two bottom teeth just cut through the surface yesterday! Now when he smiles you can see two little white slits. It is such a relief, I swear he has been in pain for two months now! Poor little guy! He has a cold right now too! Not fun! But at least he has two teeth down, just 29 more to go! Hurray!

Exhausted after a long day of coughing, crying, sniffling, teething and throwing up. Poor little man!

Taken just two days before his teeth came in, too bad! This would have been a great shot for that.

Dallin and his Daddy! I think they look alot alike. Dallin's eyes are officially Hazel like Joe's. I guess he didn't get my blue eyes afterall. That is okay! I don't mind if he looks exactly like Joe:).

My Two Burritos

I couldn't help but post this picture. It was taken months ago, but I came upon it while organizing our pictures on our computer. One day Joe decided he wanted to be swaddled too. It was funny because Dallin slept next to him like this for several minutes. We always swaddled Dallin when he slept, and it quickly became a prop for him to sleep. It has taken 3 weeks, but he is finally out of the habit of being swaddled when he sleeps. Hurray!!! No more burritos.

tv and jumping

So Lately Dallin has been fascinated by the television, he will sit and watch it (usually we need to be sitting with him) for minutes on end. I don't know if this is normal, but he also just sits and listens and watches the speakers and teachers in church like he does in this video with the T.V. I'm convinced he has a good long attention span.

Cookies and flowers...

Can I just say how much I love love love fresh flowers! I picked these from my garden yesterday, and they smell so wonderful.

The lavender was the best, it just kept giving off the fresh scent all day. I think fresh cut flowers are the best room deodorizer ever. I think I need some for babies room.... diapers don't smell the best.

I also got on a cookie craze yesterday. I made a bunch of the yummiest cookies and took little treats to my neighbors that looked like this.... I had just cut some fresh flowers and decided to spruce the treat up a bit with lavender and blue bells.

Joe had a craving for cookies, so of course I left in a nice plate full just for him.... I love the look of the blue flowers with the creamy tan of the cookies, they just pop out of the picture.... I am a flower fiend I guess...

Joe is pretty much a cookie monster, and so this plate of cookies was demolished by 8am this morning. No cookies for Heather. Oh well, I guess I will just have to make some more:) By the way this recipe is the best I have ever had, here it is in case you want to make it.

Ingredients:

2 cups butter, softened to room temperature

2 cups white sugar

2 cups packed brown sugar

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 teaspoons baking soda

4 eggs

4 cups of all purpose flour

5 cups of rolled oats (powderized in a blender)

4 cups chocolate chips

8 ounces of finely grated chocolate bar

How to make:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until throughly mixed. In a seperate bowl, mix the salt, baking powder, baking soda, flour, and oatmeal (make sure you measure out the amount of oats before you blend it, not after). Mix the the two bowls of ingredients togerher. Add the chocolate chips and grated chocolate bar. Bake on a greased cookie sheet (make golf ball sized balls, large I know, but they are the best that way) and bake for 8-10 minutes.

I like my cookies a little softer, so I cook mine for 9 minutes and let them sit on the sheet for 2 minutes before I remove them. The middle is a little gooey at first, but it hardens after a few minutes or so and is the perfect cookie consistency. Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary to me.....

Well, 5 days ago actually, not today, but Joe and I had our 3rd Anniversary on the 26th of August. Happy Anniversary Joe! We went to the Zoo and had a lot of fun. Joe and I got to eat ice cream and watch monkeys groom themselves, what a day....jealous anyone? I think so :) But seriously, it was fun, really hot and sticky outside, but fun. We also went to ikea and got some cool new dishes, and we went out to eat at Outback steakhouse. What amazing steak, holy cow...literally. I got the most amazing fillet and it just melted in my mouth. I think we will eat there more often. Joe got some really tasty baby back ribs, which I nibbled on of course. It was a fun day and so cool that we got to share part of it with Dallin. Here are some pictures of us at the zoo.....

Dallin LOVED that I wore my hair down, here are some pics of him discovering how fun it was to pull mommy's hair.... just ignore my face in most of these....Dallin is the cute one....

Joe had a blast carrying Dallin on his shoulders. Dallin is finally old enough to stay up there.

Dallin also enjoyed pulling Joe's hair at times...

We saw lions....

Tigers....

Elephants...

Giraffes....Rhinos!!!!

And then we just got to monkey around, just us three monkeys! We loved it!

Nap with mom

I just wanted to share this adorable moment and the one and only time it will probably ever happen...
Never before have we let Dallin sleep in bed with either of us, we don't think it is safe for him nor good for his sleeping habits, but he wasn't feeling too well this morning and neither was I. I have never been able to just nap with him and it was quite relaxing and super precious. There is nothing more touching than feeling the rythmatic breathing and thumping of your little baby's heart right next to you. He is such a blessing. We love you Dallin.

Joe's Birthday

Yesterday was Joe's birthday. He started out the day with breakfast in bed. I mad him the famous Hansen rolli-ups and bacon. It was delicious. Then he opened his presents (Dallin helped) and after that we got ready to play tennis. It was so fun to play tennis together again. I almost hurt my knee really bad. It had rained the day before and there were puddles all over the court. I was running after a fast serve from Joe and skidded right into one. I managed to save myself from getting too hurt, but not before my entire backside was covered in muddy water. Oh well, no harm no foul. Dallin played in his stroller most of the time, but when he got too fussy to be left alone, Joe picked him up and we played a more mild game of Tennis. Dallin loved playing tennis in Daddy's arms, he had a ball. After tennis, we went shopping and found Joe some awesome clothes. We went to lunch, then a movie, (G.I JOe, it was okay) and then dinner. Joe says he had a great birthday. I took him some cake to work today and bought him lunch. He says his birthday has never been so long, as I have been celebrating it for two days now! Happy Birthday Joe! I love you so very much and am so glad that you are in my life!

Before opening presents, Dallin is super excited to begin...

He didn't know quite what to think of it at first, but soon Dallin was a pro at tearing the paper.
Joe is teaching Dallin to LOVE candy already.

Getting ready to go play tennis with Daddy on his birthday, it was chilly yesterday morning.
He looks so chubby, I love it!

Kickin' it old school with Daddy.

Joe had fun eating Lunch with his son.

Angry he can't have cake....

All in all it was a really fun day! I am glad that Joe got to have some fun and relax on his birthday. Happy Birthday my love!
